Ingredients:
- 3 packs of Oreos (128g each)
- 170g softened cream cheese
- 1/4 cup of rainbow nonpareils
- 18 mini ice cream cones
- 2 bags of white candy melts (340g each)
- Food colouring spray
- Star shaped sprinkles
- Silver sprinkles
-
Cake pop sticks
Instructions:
1. Create the Cake Pop “Dough”
- Crush the Oreos in a food processor until finely crumbled.
- Add cream cheese and pulse until the mixture forms a smooth dough ball.
- Transfer to a bowl and gently fold in the rainbow nonpareils.
- Chill in the fridge for about 10 minutes to firm up.
2. Prepare the Microphone Handles
- While the dough chills, spray the mini ice cream cones with food colouring spray. Alternatively, you can use coloured candy melts to coat each cone.
- Insert a cake pop stick into the centre of each cone.
- Melt about 2 tablespoons of candy melts in the microwave and use it as “glue” to attach a star sprinkle onto each cone.
3. Shape the Cake Pops
- Remove the dough from the fridge and roll into 18 evenly sized balls.
- Push each ball onto a stick extending from the cone.
- Pop them in the freezer for about 10 minutes while you get the coating ready.
4. Coat & Decorate
- Melt the rest of the candy melts according to package instructions. Transfer to a non-glass container.
- Dip each ball into the melted candy melt, allowing excess to drip off.
- Gently push the cone upward so it snugly meets the dipped ball.
- While still wet, sprinkle the silver sprinkles over the coated top to mimic a real microphone mesh.
5. Dry & Store
- Stick the finished pops into floral foam or use a cake pop stand to help them dry upright.
- Once set, you can either remove the sticks from the bottom of the cones or leave them on.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge. They will keep for up to 3 days. Remove them about 30 minutes before serving so they can come to room temperature.
Enjoy! These microphone cake pops will be perfect for disco parties, 80s parties, KPop Demon Hunters parties, and more.
