Ingredients and Tools:
- Cake Pop Mould
- Cake Pop Sticks
- Brown candy melts
- Cocoa powder
- Fondant icing
- Brown food colouring
- Edible marker pens
Instructions:
1. Prepare Your Cake Pops
- Cook your cake pops using the mould. Melt a small amount of brown candy melts. Insert a cake pop stick into each cake ball by dipping the stick into the melted candy and then pushing it into the hole in the mould. Allow them to set in the freezer for 20 minutes.
2. Coat the Cake Pops
- Once set, melt the majority of the brown candy melts in a tall, narrow cup in the microwave. Heat in short intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted.
- Dip each cake pop into the melted candy, ensuring it’s fully coated. Gently tap the stick on the side of the bowl to remove excess candy. Place the coated cake pops in a styrofoam block for drying and presentation. Optional: Lightly dust the cake pops with cocoa powder for an authentic coconut look.
- Refrigerate the coated cake pops for an additional 15 minutes to set the candy melts.
3. Decorate the Faces
- Add a small amount of brown food colouring to fondant icing to achieve a beige colour. Roll it out and cut into small ovals to create Kakamora faces.
- Melt the reserved brown candy melts in a small bowl. Use the melted candy as glue to attach the fondant faces onto the cake pops.
- Use edible marker pens to draw facial features on the fondant ovals.
4. Add Final Touches
- Use additional fondant to craft hats and other decorations for your Kakamora cake pops, securing them with melted candy melts if necessary.
- Once all decorations are set, your Kakamora cake pops are ready to be served! Enjoy these delightful and creative treats at your Moana-themed party.
