A Step-by-Step Guide to Making Perfect Cake Pops

A Step-by-Step Guide to Making Perfect Cake Pops

Ingredients

Method

  1. Cook your cake pops using the mould. Melt a small amount of the candy melts. Insert a cake pop stick into each cake ball by dipping the end of the stick into the candy melts, then pushing it into the hole in the mould. Leave to set in the freezer for 20 minutes.
  2. Melt the remaining candy melts in separate bowls either in short bursts in the microwave or over a double boiler.
  3. Once the cake pops are firm, coat them in the melted candy melts then gently tap the stick on the side of the bowl to remove any excess. Decorate the cake pops with sprinkles, jimmies, glitter, or other decorations before the candy melts set.
  4. If you're decorating with additional candy melt colours, wait for the initial candy melt coating to harden before drizzling a different colour over the top using a spoon or fork.
  5. Finally, insert the cake pop sticks into a styrofoam block or glass filled with M&M's or rice to hold them upright while the candy melts set.
